To celebrate 20 years of vinyl storytelling, we are proud to present Flake – Pain, an anniversary edition of the iconic skateboarder that marked coarse’s beginning in 2003.
The original bust was hand-sculpted by Mark Landwehr two decades ago and was never sold or released, remaining an original sculpture in the coarse vault. This Loser edition is a replica of the original handmade bust, re-sculpted with new techniques and reimagined in dreamy blues and pinks. In this edition, Flake's eyes are closed with classic coarse eyelashes in a moment of calm before he charges back up stronger than ever before.
Each order contains one vinyl Flake bust, doused in pink blood as he tries to get through another day. He will arrive in a color-printed gift box an embedded in black sponge. One Family & Friends application card is included with every bust.
This sculpture represents one of the most important moments in coarse’s history and two decades later its meaning still resonates with us. Life will always find a way to knock you down. So be ready to fall. But be made to rise up.
